The popular and accessible makeup brand Maybelline New York has taken on a new global ambassador, one who electronic music fans everywhere can celebrate.
Odds are that celebration will be soundtracked by Peggy Gou‘s dance hit, “(It Goes Like) Nanana” in all of its futuristic splendor. Fans of the DJ and makeup brand alike can now look forward to her being the face of product and its brand campaigns, according to a press release.
Trisha Ayyagari, Global Brand President of Maybelline New York, said the company is “thrilled” to have Gou join their ranks, considering she’s prevalently admired for her music and bold style.
“Peggy is the hottest DJ in the world and her songs are everyone’s summer soundtrack,” Ayyagari continued. “Her infectious energy and her ability to connect with such a diverse audience is a true testament to her authenticity and artistry. We look forward to the power of this partnership with Peggy, to celebrate creativity and self-expression.”
It seems Gou is equally thrilled about the partnership, highlighting the ease with which the brand fits into her active lifestyle.
“Maybelline has always been a brand that celebrates individuality and creativity—values that resonate deeply with me,” she said. “Maybelline products are not only high-performing but also resilient enough to withstand the demands of my often-hectic global touring schedule. I look forward to embarking on this journey.”
Though an ambassadorship with Maybelline New York may be new ground, the artist is no stranger to the world of style and beauty. Gou is a graduate of the London College of Fashion and she has experience in styling and editing for the famed fashion magazine Harper’s Bazaar.
Prior to this partnership, Gou released six EPs and launched her own record label, Gudu Records back in 2019. She’s now gearing up for her long-awaited debut album, I Hear You, which is scheduled to release on June 7th via XL Recordings.
Along with navigating the newly-conquered makeup world, she’s now set to release her long-awaited debut album, I Hear You. Scheduled to drop on June 7th via XL Recordings, the album promises a song-cycle of summer dance jams, including her recent collaboration with Lenny Kravitz, “I Believe In Love Again.”
