Loren Gray is climbing trees – in her workout clothes. In a new social media post, the singer-songwriter shows off her amazing body during an outdoor exercise session. “My lil spider monkey,” her friend wrote on the Instagram Stories image. How does she approach diet, exercise, and self-care? Here is everything you need to know about her lifestyle habits.

Loren is a skier. “Gone skiing,” she captioned an Instagram Stories video from earlier this year. Research has linked downhill skiing to a number of health benefits. In addition to promoting physical fitness, it may decrease risk of cardiovascular and metabolic diseases. Studies have also found that the more frequently a person skis, prevalence of known hypercholesterolemia, systemic hypertension, diabetes, the frequency of mental stress and the occurrence of memory deficits declines.

Loren also enjoys golfing. “Golf is a dangerous thing,” she captioned a clip of herself on the driving range. A comprehensive review published in the British Journal of Sports Medicine found that golf’s health benefits are extensive, including mind, body, and even lifespan. Benefits include improved longevity, decreased risk of developing heart disease or suffering a stroke, good mental health, and improved strength and balance.

In a YouTube video Loren offered a glimpse at her workout. She starts by running either on the treadmill or outside. “I just run for about two miles to six miles. Today I ran two because it’s really hot in my gym, but it usually takes about 20 minutes,” she says. According to the Mayo Clinic, running is great for cardiovascular health, muscle building, and weight loss. “For every mile run, the average person will burn approximately 100 calories,” they say.

Loren’s workouts involve strength training exercises. She starts by doing a hundred jumping jacks “to keep my heart rate up,” she says. Then she moves onto squats and lunges (three sets of 15 reps) followed by in and out squat jumps, arm dips, mountain climbers, and then abs. Her ab workout is 20 crunches, 20 reverse crunches, 20 leg lifts, 20 butterfly kicks, 20 scissor kicks, and 20 bicycle crunches.

Loren has another way of sneaking exercise in. “I take the stairs after my workout because it makes me feel more accomplished,” she says.
