Sreejita De is getting her sweat on in a two-piece workout outfit. In a new social media post the Bigg Boss star shows off her strength and amazing body in a sports bra and leggings during a workout session. “Reason girls train legs so much,” she captioned the Instagram Reel of herself squating with a kettlebell. How does the reality star approach diet, fitness, and self-care? Here is everything you need to know about her lifestyle habits.
Sreejita is a yogi. “I have been practicing Yoga for the past three and a half years, since I was introduced to it,” she told Times of India. Why should you do yoga? “Researchers found that people who practiced yoga for at least 30 minutes once a week for at least four years, gained less weight during middle adulthood,” explains Harvard Health..”People who were overweight actually lost weight. Overall, those who practiced yoga had lower body mass indexes (BMIs) compared with those who did not practice yoga. Researchers attributed this to mindfulness. Mindful eating can lead to a more positive relationship with food and eating.”
Another healthy habit of Sreejita? She never skips a workout. “I have made a point that vacation or no vacation I do workout daily and would recommend to everyone out there,” she told them. Physical activity is anything that gets your body moving. Each week adults need 150 minutes of moderate-intensity physical activity and 2 days of muscle-strengthening activity, according to the current Physical Activity Guidelines for Americans.
Sreejita enjoys tumbling. “Recently, I also have added gymnastics in my workout and I made sure to put some extra effort in my workout considering our beach vacation,” she told the publication.
Sreejita enjoys eating. “I am an absolute foodie. Somehow, I can’t hold my love for food. Of course, as we were on vacation we ate a lot. Every day we tried different cuisine, especially different Thai dishes,” she said.
To compensate for the extra eating, Sreejita “took on a lot of physical challenges” to burn calories. “We went Snorkeling, Scuba diving, Swimming,” she said. “For the first time, we tried Scuba Diving. We went almost 10 meters under the sea and saw a lot of underwater life. That was an out-ofthe-world and breathtaking experience.” Surprisingly, putting on a snorkel and fins and swimming through the water is a great workout. In addition to being a great aerobic exercise and burning calories, other health benefits may include improved cardiovascular function, stress reduction, mood enhancement, and muscular toning.
On the trip she also “walked for almost 5-6 kilometers every day,” she said. “We tried to maintain a healthy lifestyle.” Going for a daily walk can be a game changer in terms of exercise, especially at a brisk speed. One study published in JAMA Internal Medicine found that walking at a brisk pace for about 30 minutes a day led to a reduced risk of heart disease, cancer, dementia and death, compared with walking a similar number of steps but at a slower pace.
In her latest post, Sreejita also reveals that strength training is part of her stay-fit routine. According to the Mayo Clinic, strength and weight training help reduce body fat, preserve and increase lean muscle mass, and burn calories more efficiently. Strength training may also help you:
- Develop strong bones
- Manage your weight
- Enhance your quality of life
- Manage chronic conditions
- Sharpen your thinking skills
