Mel B doesn’t “Wannabe” in trouble with her fellow Spice Girls.
The British pop star, 48, whose real name is Melanie Brown, playfully walked off “Today With Hoda & Jenna” Monday after saying perhaps too much about the iconic ’90s girl group’s upcoming plans.
When co-host Jenna Bush Hager, 42, asked Brown if she could “just break the news” about the group’s rumored reunion, the pop star replied, “I can’t because I always get told off because I’m the blabbermouth.”
Still, Brown continued, “You know, we are working — I think I said this to you before, us five are working on something that’s going to be announced soon,” she doubled down about her January appearance on the NBC talk show.
Brown did admit that Spice Girls fans would be “very, very, very” satisfied with what’s next for the bandmates, which also includes Emma Bunton, 48, Victoria Beckham, 49, Melanie Chisholm, 50, and Geri Halliwell, 51.
But this still wasn’t good enough for Bush Hager. The former first daughter proceeded to beg Brown for more information by bringing up *NSYNC’s recent reunion for Justin Timberlake’s new album, “Everything I Thought It Was.”
“I love *NSYNC, but yeah, no — this is going to be really good. And the fans are going to be really happy about it,” a growingly more flustered Brown said.
Bush Hager finally cut to the chase, asking, “Can we go see you on tour?”
Brown nervously uttered “You’re going to be able to —” before realizing she may have said too much, getting out of her seat, and leaving the set.
“Oh, I’m going to get in trouble. I’m not saying anything. OK, bye!” the former “X Factor” judge laughed as she moved out of frame.
“That felt like maybe there’s gonna be a tour,” co-host Hoda Kotb, 59, told the camera as she and Bush Hager high-fived.
“That felt like a maybe!” Bush Hager excitedly echoed.
The Spice Girls — sans Beckham — reunited for a UK tour in 2019. This month marks the 30th anniversary of the women first auditioning for the girl group, as noted in a behind-the-scenes look at the creation of the group on X.
This marks the second time a pop diva has walked off “Today” this year. Last month, Kelly Rowland, 43, reportedly left the show’s New York City studio because her dressing room wasn’t up to her standards, leaving Kotb scrambling to find a guest host for the 10 a.m. hour.
Kotb and Bush Hager later defended Rowland’s move, stating that the Destiny’s Child alum is “welcome anytime.”
