FROM gifting cars to complete strangers to buying an entire neighborhood for his friends, MrBeast is no stranger to making huge purchases.
Jimmy Donaldson, 25, is one of the biggest content creators in the world with more than 230 million subscribers on YouTube.
Some of his videos involve him spending a week in solitary confinement or being buried alive while others have him building 100 wells in Africa or paying an assassin trying to kill him.
Each video has hundreds of millions of views with the highest video having nearly half a billion views.
Because of his massive popularity, Donaldson enjoys a lavish lifestyle, owning several homes, fancy cars, and multiple businesses.
One of his most expensive purchases includes his studio where all the MrBeast magic happens.
Donaldson gave a studio tour during a 2022 interview, walking fellow YouTuber MrWhoseTheBoss through his three-house studio.
The tech Donaldson uses to film and edit his videos costs about $2.8 million alone.
The properties he owns, including a warehouse, a renovated church, and homes, rounded up to $14.2 million.
In 2018, he bought a $320,000 four-bedroom home outside of his hometown of Greenville, North Carolina.
The home spans about 3,000 square feet with granite countertops, a breakfast bar, and a main bedroom with an ensuite bathroom.
However, Donaldson didn’t stop with just one home, buying five neighboring homes and creating a cul-de-sac for his family and staff to live in.
The homes weren’t listed for sale and it is believed they were bought off-market.
Donaldson’s company has about 60 full-time employees, according to an interview with Rolling Stone.
He has plans to build three major production hubs in Greenville with the hopes of turning the town into “a magnet for content creators in digital media.”
Donaldson used to have a penchant for nice cars, owning a BMW i8 a few years ago before selling it “because I don’t like people stalking me,” he said on X, formerly known as Twitter.
Along with cars, he also used to own a $2.5 million private jet before giving it away in one of his videos.
Some of his craziest purchases are made for content, including when he and his team recreated Willy Wonka’s Chocolate Factory filled with challenges for people to compete in.
The factory, seemingly built from a warehouse, had several rooms inspired by the book, including one with a marshmallow theme and another with a chocolate waterfall.
AMAZON TV DEAL
Donaldson may be turning his stellar social media career into a possible reality competition show with Amazon’s Prime Video streaming service, per Variety.
Specific details of the show, including its title, haven’t been revealed but it will likely see Donaldson hosting a competition for Prime Video, following the format of his YouTube challenges.
Donaldson is no stranger to hosting large-scale competitions, including a reenactment of Squid Game, which saw a winner walking away with $446,000.
Sources close to the deal said Donaldson was reportedly offered $100 million while others said that it hasn’t been officially inked at this point.
Between June 2022 and June 2023, Donaldson earned an estimated $82 million in gross earnings – more than twice the earnings of any other digital creator.
He has also won the Creator of the Year award at the Streamys for the past four years.
