Moksi are splitting up after eight years, the beloved electronic music duo announced today.
According to an announcement shared across the former duo’s social media channels, Moksi’s Diego Stijnen has left the group after eight years of international success. In a heartfelt note to fans, Stijnen revealed that while he’s cherished his time with bandmate Samir Ait Moh, he’s now spreading his wings as a solo MC and producer.
Stijnen went on to thank his former production partner and fans, ensuring them that Ait Moh will continue on as Moksi.
Stijnen also announced his new solo project, SUMMUM. He also dropped a new house track on SoundCloud, where he outlined his intentions for the project.
“[Stijnen’s] shows and works with EDM royalty including Hardwell, Martin Garrix, and Afrojack have cemented his status as a veteran in the world of electronic music,” reads the page’s description. “Diego also released a few dozen tracks as part of the Moksi duo, collaborating with top artists such as DJ Snake and Yellow Claw.”
“But now, with the birth of SUMMUM, Diego is embarking on a new musical journey. With more than 15 years of experience and his everlasting love for house, minimal, and electro, Diego is bringing his passion to life through the sound of SUMMUM.”
