AREA21 Announce First Live Performance Film and Companion Album, "Live on Planet Earth"

Martin Garrix and Maejor are revealing AREA21’s next evolution via an upcoming live performance tape with dazzling production.

Martin Garrix and Maejor, the aliens of AREA21, are arriving with their first live performance film.

The collaborative project between Garrix and Maejor saw an unearthly debut album release in 2021. Now, they’re set to release their first live performance film, Live on Planet Earth.

The 46-minute film will feature Garrix on guitar and cover performances of fan-favorite tracks such as “Spaceships” and “Followers,” among others. Live on Planet Earth also seeks to cover new ground in illuminating the AREA21 mythos and will feature a companion album of the same name.

“We’ve always been dreaming of having AREA21 on stage with a band, Martin Garrix said in a statement shared with EDM.com. “The music on the album has been made with a lot of live instruments like real bass, real drums, so it’s amazing to be able to put that into a full live performance now.”

The film will be available on Hulu in the United States, on Star+ in Latin America and on Disney+ under the Star banner in all other territories.

Fans can pre-save the accompanying album here and stay tuned for the performance film’s release on April 5th. In the meantime, check out the trailer below.
