The Rocky Horror Picture Show is ready to celebrate 50 years of blowing the doors off of cinematic convention when it premiered back in 1975. Based on the stage production by Richard O’Brien, it introduced the world to such unforgettable characters as Frank-N-Furter and Riff Raff, and encouraged moviegoers to come in costume and actively participate with the high camp and tawdry glamour happening onscreen.
This fall, the film that shattered conventions and enraptured late-night audiences will be commemorated with a series of events and screenings around the world. Los Angeles, in particular, will host many of the special Rocky Horror happenings.
