Jimmy Page and Gibson have released the 1969 EDS-1275 Doubleneck VOS electric guitar, a new replica of Page’s legendary doubleneck axe.
Following the highly limited (and since sold-out) release of the EDS-1275 Doubleneck Collector’s Edition back in March, the new EDS-1275 was once again made “in close collaboration and with significant input” from Page using 3D scanning technology of the Led Zeppelin guitarist’s original.

While that prior replica used Gibson’s Murphy Lab aging to replicate the Led Zeppelin guitarist’s original EDS-1275 right down to the exact playing wear — every knick and scratch — the new model is a replica of the guitar before the road wear, as Page originally received it. The VOS nitrocellulose lacquer in ’69 Cherry finish gives the guitar a softly aged patina without the highly-detailed Murphy Lab aging.
Specs wise, EDS-1275 VOS features a double-cutaway one-piece mahogany body housing electronics are just as historically authentic as the look and feel of the instrument: two uncovered Jimmy Page EDS-1275 Custombuckers with double black bobbins and Alnico 5 magnets for two six-string pickups and a covered pair installed for 12-string. The two volume and tone controls use CTS potentiometers and period-correct ceramic disc capacitors, and the pickup select switch, neck select switch, and output jack are all from Switchcraft.
Both necks are hide glue fit and have a 12-inch radius — the profiles recreated from aforementioned 3D scans of the original necks. Both are capped with bound Indian rosewood fretboards equipped with 20 authentic medium jumbo frets and aged cellulose nitrate parallelogram inlays. The 18 tuners are Kluson double line, double ring style, like those found on the original axe, and the headstocks also feature the correct 17-degree angle and specific logo stylization found on Jimmy’s EDS-1275.
The new EDS-1275 VOS signature model model retails for $9,999 and can be purchased via Gibson or from independent sellers and small businesses via Reverb. A Gibson Custom hardshell case is included, along with a vintage leather strap, and a certificate of authenticity with a photo of Jimmy Page.
