Tomorrowland‘s beloved “Great Library of Tomorrow” will soon take root under the radiant Iberian sun for a new attraction in Madrid.
“The Great Library of Tomorrow” is an audiovisual experience that essentially reveals the symbolic language carried through the visionary art and stage productions woven through the iconic EDM festival’s storytelling over its illustrious history. Within the multi-sensory exhibit, fans of Tomorrowland can explore its mythic metanarratives through VR.
Since opening in Barcelona’s Plaça Catalunya in December 2023, “The Great Library of Tomorrow” has received support from the city’s tourism office and attracted over 40,000 visitors. Due to the “overwhelming success” of that proof-of-concept exhibit, Tomorrowland is now opening one in Spain’s capital in the fall of 2024, according to a press release.
“The Great Library of Tomorrow” is the brainchild of Tomorrowland and Xtended Reality Music Hub, the latter of which is a collaboration between the teams behind Layers of Reality and Blanco y Negro Music.
“Bringing ‘The Great Library of Tomorrow’ to Madrid has long been a milestone in our plans, especially considering Spain’s capital boasts a vibrant entertainment and cultural scene and ‘The Great Library of Tomorrow’ stands as one of the best immersive experiences available today,” said Jordi Sellas, Artistic Director of Layers of Reality.
Elsewhere in the Tomorrowland universe, the brand’s flagship festival in Belgium is celebrating its 20th anniversary this summer as it returns across two weekends: July 19-21 and July 26-28. Read more about the event and discover its lineup here.
