The release coincides with the band hitting the road, opening for labelmates Beach Weather on the Pineapple Sunrise: The Tour.
SoCal-based indie rock trio Rec Hall, comprised of John Barry (guitar, vocals), Lance Meliota (drums), and Ben Tyrrell (guitar, bass), have released their dynamic new track, ‘How Long.’ Out now via Arista Records, the inspiration for the track stemmed from the experience of being away from their loved ones while on tour.
Guitarist/Bassist Ben Tyrrell elaborates:
“‘How Long’ is about the duality of life on the road. It’s about desperately missing the stability and comfort of the people we love back home, while also sonically capturing the frenetic energy of a packed venue. We wanted it to feel both dance-y and domestic; to evoke both the quiet bliss of coffee on nightstands and the electricity of a dance club.”
Before its official release, ‘How Long’ was teased in Rec Hall’s touring set, generating a vibrant reaction from audiences. The release follows Rec Hall’s debut EP, Localism, which garnered praise for its vibrant surf rock and psychedelic soundscapes.
‘How Long’ is out now on all streaming services.
