In some exciting broadcasting news, former Pussycat Doll turned DJ Kimberly Wyatt has been announced as the new presenter of The Hits Radio Throwback on Hits Radio!
Billed as being “a three-hour playlist” made up of the biggest and best throwback tracks, the super energetic programme promises to both lift listeners spirits, and banish away any Sunday scaries, with an engaging mix of music and live chat.
Ahead of her first show THIS Sunday (November 10th at 7pm), Kimberly joined Fleur East on the Hits Radio Breakfast Show this week, where she said of her new job: “The cat is finally out of the bag! It’s so awesome to be part of the family… I’m so excited it’s like a new little adventure. I’ve been DJing for quite some time but to be able to spend some time with everybody on a Sunday and play some of my favourite tunes – I’m really looking forward to it.”
As to what audiences can expect from the show, the former Dancing On Ice contestant teased: “There’ll be a little bit of PCD of course, but lots of Noughties, lots of hits – keep it fun for a Sunday! I’ll be bringing music, fun, stories… Music takes you back to moments and memories, so to live in that again and share some of that will be fun.”
When pressed on what sort of office colleague she would be for the rest of the Hits Radio team Kimberly confessed: “Well, as a Mum of three I do have that maternal instinct and want to take care of everybody but I’m always down for gossip – I’m not usually the one with the best gossip, I’m good at listening to the goss!”
