It really says something about how good a trailer looks when Pedro Pascal looking handsome and promising he will protect us is like the third most exciting thing about it. The first, is, of course, our first look at the MCU’s Silver Surfer, played by Julia Garner in The Fantastic Four: First Steps. The Silver Surfer is looking sleek and villainous, and she’s ready to destroy the world that the Fantastic Four have sworn to defend; that’s no good. The second most exciting thing about The Fantastic Four: First Steps‘ trailer is just how incredibly well-made and plotted the whole story feels. And the third is, of course, Pedro Pascal looking wonderful and comforting us.

This movie really has a wonderful feeling of family so far. And that’s perfect because The Fantastic Four are known as the MCU’s first family. And this The Fantastic Four: First Steps trailer reveals that the family is growing. Invisible Woman/Sue Storm is pregnant. And that makes the stakes of the film both galactic and personal. We truly appreciate that. We also love seeing our favorite robot friend, H.E.R.B.I.E. What a cutie! Additionally, Joseph Quinn’s Human Torch is utterly charming, yet in a truly innocent and pure way, which we thoroughly enjoy.

Delightfully, Julia Garner’s Silver Surfer is also truly menacing in this The Fantastic Four trailer, and her threats feel very real. We can’t wait to see her clash with our favorite team. And, of course, there’s Galactus waiting in the wings…

The synopsis for The Fantastic Four: First Steps is as follows.
Set against the vibrant backdrop of a 1960s-inspired, retro-futuristic world, Marvel Studios’ “The Fantastic Four: First Steps” introduces Marvel’s First Family—Reed Richards/Mister Fantastic (Pedro Pascal), Sue Storm/Invisible Woman (Vanessa Kirby), Johnny Storm/Human Torch (Joseph Quinn) and Ben Grimm/The Thing (Ebon Moss-Bachrach) as they face their most daunting challenge yet. Forced to balance their roles as heroes with the strength of their family bond, they must defend Earth from a ravenous space god called Galactus (Ralph Ineson) and his enigmatic Herald, Silver Surfer (Julia Garner). And if Galactus’ plan to devour the entire planet and everyone on it weren’t bad enough, it suddenly gets very personal.

The Fantastic Four: First Steps releases in theaters on July 25.
