Leon Bridges Announces Self-Titled LP, Shares First Single and Official Music Video for "Peaceful Place"

Lone Star State favorite Leon Bridges has announced the October 4 release of his self-titled, fourth full-length album, Leon, presented via Columbia Records. The highly anticipated delivery comes three years after Bridges’ 2021 Grammy-nominated Gold-Diggers Sound. As a preview, the artist has paired the initial single, “Peaceful Place,” alongside its official music video, which provides a candid look at the making of the collection. Watch below.

Addressing the project, Bridges penned an intimate letter to fans, “‘Leon’ has been a long time coming. I started writing pieces of it as far back as Gold-Diggers Sound. They didn’t fit what I was trying to do with that album and I tried moving on. But I couldn’t shake them because they’re part of me. And, if I’m honest, also because I think this is some of my most excellent work yet.”

The musician continued, “In many ways, Leon has been in the works since my childhood. This record is about simpler days. It’s about time spent in my beloved Fort Worth and the experiences that made me the man I am today. It’s soulful music in the truest sense – it’s imbued with my soul.” He concluded his note, expressing, “I’m excited to share these stories about my home, about nostalgia, about my upbringing, about where I’m from, with all of you. I hope this music brings you back to your roots and your journey.”

The set was recorded and produced with the aid of Ian Fitchuk (Kacey Musgraves, Maggie Rogers) in the outskirts of vibrant Mexico City at El Desierto and co-production help from Daniel Tashian (Kacey Musgraves) in Nashville. The LP is comprised of 13 tracks, the set aims to shine the light on Bridges’ songwriting talent and knack for storytelling, all of which present with a sense of naturalness.

Paired with the long-awaited announcement is Bridge’s initial single and music video for “Peaceful Place.” The clip welcomes viewers behind the scenes and into making the record, visually showcasing the places and people that make the set unique.
