IShowSpeed’s cameraman and content manager has addressed claims that the streaming star is being paid to stream from China in his newest tour.

Over the last year, IShowSpeed has routinely swapped his bedroom and home comforts for streaming tours. He’s met fans across pretty much every continent, including Europe, South America, and South East Asia – with these streams pulling in massive viewership numbers.

His newest tour has seen Speed jet off to China. He’s started traveling around the country, kicking things off in Beijing, doing a backflip at the Great Wall of China, and just getting up to his regular hijinx.

The YouTube star has also been praised by the Chinese government for visiting the country. “@ishowspeedsuii has kicked off a journey in #China that has already garnered massive global attention, which indicates a broader trend of digital influencers bridging cultural gaps and creating alternative channels for foreign audiences to understand a vibrant China,” the Chinese Embassy posted.

After that, some claims surfaced on social media that Speed has been paid by the Chinese government to be there. However, his cameraman, Slipz, has clapped back at that.

“Fact: amount of money IShowspeed has received from Chinese Government = $0. Posting so it can be used as an actual source,” he replied. “Hi I am internal with the IShowspeed team. He is in China at his own expense, and will likely take a net loss.”

Slipz added that Speed’s team have tried to get sponsors involved but “it’s just not the easting thing to put on a contract lol.”

When quizzed on how the YouTuber could be losing money on streams, he noted that Speed isn’t just paying for himself.

“Traveling every other day with 6 people + himself in first class & 5 star hotels adds up rather quickly,” the cameraman continued. “The amount he spent on travel in 2024 is an insane number that I don’t think anyone here would guess or expect.”

Slipperz addressed numerous claims about Speed’s tour of China.

He also expanded on that. “By net loss I am only referring to stream income – cost of travel,” Slipz said. “YTY speed is not at a net loss by doing tours because of things like influence, overall growth, and what comes with that in the long run. But majority of the time on tours itself speed breaks even or loses.”
