Goose have unveiled an official vinyl release for their unforgettable performance at Luna Luna: Forgotten Fantasy. Captured during the band’s singular March 11 event and published in collaboration with Relix, Live in New York preserves the electrifying energy of the Everything Must Go Experience and the apex of the indie-jam ensemble’s instrumental prowess, put to the test over the course of a fully improvised 90-minute set. The standard-setting performance is limited to 3,500 numbered copies, available to pre-order now.

Goose announced the Everything Must Go Experience as an official release show for their massively acclaimed fourth studio album just one week before its staging. Luna Luna, exhibited in New York’s The Shed, provided the perfect setting to introduce the band’s vibrant new chapter with its dazzling array of carnival fixtures designed by legends like Jean-Michel Basquiat, Roy Lichtenstein and Salvador Dalí. These installations blended seamlessly with the album art created by illustrator Brian Blomerth, who brought his creative vision to life with costumed characters moving through the crowd.

In the center of this kaleidoscopic scene, Goose emerged on a raised platform with Bogie, the former Antibalas multi-instrumentalist and enduring staple of New York’s alternative music scene, who joined the quartet for a full-set collaboration; Bogie first crossed paths with the outfit with contributions to 2022’s Dripfield. Just as they performed to the audience in a round, the band stood in a circle onstage, enabling closer communication and pushing them past the furthest reaches of their sonic imagination.

The mind-bending explorations that unfolded in the immersive art exhibit deftly wove between heady peaks and contemplative valleys with a palpable excitement. Bogie’s contributions of saxophone and clarinet steered the group in new directions, crafting unprecedented sounds from their carefully recombined tones. Atop the instrumental flow-state, lead guitarist and vocalist Rick Mitarotonda brought his voice into the mix with autotuned vocalization based on prompts provided by the audience.

Even for a band that fearlessly pursues new creative possibilities, Goose’s Live in New York is unquestionably among their most inventive and virtuosic offerings yet. Learn more and secure your copy exclusively at relix.shop.
