Belgian industrial legends Front 242 have announced that they will embark on a 2024-2025 farewell tour, ending their concert career after 40-plus years. Among the dates will be a final run of US shows.
Following a slew of previously announced spring festival dates, the final tour, dubbed the “Black Out” concerts, will begin and end in Front 242’s home country of Belgium. The outing kicks off August 4th in Lokeren, Belgium, and runs through a final two-night stand January 24th-25th in Brussels, Belgium. The US dates will run in September and November, with a European leg in between.
Tickets to the US shows are set to go on sale this Friday (March 1st) via Ticketmaster or the links listed on the band’s official website. Fans can also check for deals or pick up tickets to sold-out shows via StubHub, where your purchase is 100% guaranteed through StubHub’s Fan Protect program. And tickets to the international shows can be found at this location.
“It is with a heavy mix of emotion that we close this great adventure, some 40 years in the making,” stated core Front 242 members Patrick Codenys, Richard Jonckheere, and Jean-Luc De Meyer. “We realize that ending our journey at this time, when we are still vibrant and full of energy is how the band should be remembered. We are excited to share these meaningful final performances with our wonderful fans who have been with us through it all.”
Front 242 formed in 1981, pioneering the industrial style of music known as EBM (Electronic Body Music). Their 1988 album Front by Front landed at No. 9 on our list of the 50 Best Industrial Albums of All Time, while their signature track “Headhunter” nabbed the No. 2 spot on our list of the 50 Best Industrial Songs of All Time.
As part of their spring festival run, Front 242 will be playing the Sick New World festival in Las Vegas on April 27th.
