The iconic frontman of Black Sabbath and founding father of heavy metal passed peacefully on Tuesday, July 22nd. Earlier this week, fans paid tribute to him during a public funeral procession through the streets of his hometown, Birmingham. He was laid to rest the following day on the grounds of his mansion in Buckinghamshire, England, in an intimate service that reportedly included attendance by Ozzy’s family, Elton John, members of Black Sabbath, Metallica, and more.
Following the passing of the Prince of Darkness, an outpouring of tributes emerged from artists across the globe. Among the most notable was Alice Cooper, who was recently joined onstage by Johnny Depp for a rendition of Black Sabbath’s iconic track “Paranoid.”
