Bodybuilder, coach, certified fitness professional and IFBB Pro, Roxie Beckles, aims to inspire her community of people. “In my fitness life, I’m no longer chasing incessant fitness goals by way of bodybuilding that forces me to put all things in life on hold to pursue the pro level of the sport. I have a much higher purpose in my reasons to train which is to simply have a body healthy enough to do God’s will for my life. As well as inspire in others to do the same,” she said on Instagram. Here’s what she does to stay in such great shape.
She channels religion and her faith, even during her workouts. “Before I train, I recite the following prayer. I encourage you to use it too. “Lord Jesus, I offer this workout to You as a living sacrifice. Help me to use my body to glorify You and to grow in strength and discipline. In moments of struggle or lost motivation, may I unite my efforts and any suffering with Your cross. Strengthen my spirit as You strengthen my body, and may this workout bring me closer to You in heart, mind, and soul. In Your holy name, I pray. Amen,” she said on Instagram.
She’s incredibly confident and driven. “Have you ever felt the electric thrill of standing on a stage, not just showcasing your extraordinary physical strength, but exuding an aura of confidence and elegance that captivates every eye? If you’re a woman driven by fitness passion, ready to transform your body into a living masterpiece, then women’s physique competitions might be your calling,” she said on Instagram.
She’s disciplined and driven. “Discipline is the key to success, especially in building spiritual strength. Consider athletes, particularly Olympians—they are among the most disciplined people in the world. These elite performers don’t rely solely on talent. Their success is rooted in relentless discipline, repeating the same drills over and over until they reach mastery,” she said on Instagram.
She prioritizes eating right and encourages others to do the same. “Ladies, let’s change how we view food. Are you ready to embrace the mantra of eating to be lean and strong? Instead of seeing food as the enemy, let it become your ally in achieving the body you dream of,” she said on Instagram. “Fuel your journey with nutrient-rich foods: lean proteins, colorful fruits and veggies, and healthy fats. By focusing on what nourishes you, not what limits you, you can maintain a balanced diet that supports a lean and vibrant life.”
She works on protecting her mental health, as well. “Fitness is not just about physical strength; it’s about nurturing your mind, body, and spirit. It is an all-encompassing journey that influences every aspect of your life, from how you think, to how you feel, and how you interact with the world around you. The commitment to fitness requires dedication and resilience, driving you to maintain a balanced lifestyle,” she said on instagram. “Mental toughness (MT) has been studied as an important individual difference factor that allows individuals to deal effectively with challenges and to persist under pressure,” according to the National Library of Medicine.
