Amplified, The Immersive Rock Experience, Recreating Rock History in Vivid Detail

Illuminarium Las Vegas has unveiled a new chapter in music storytelling with Rolling Stone Presents: Amplified, The Immersive Rock Experience, an unprecedented exhibit celebrating the rich and enthralling history of rock.

Opening on March 12 in Las Vegas’ AREA15, the one-of-a-kind partnership between rock music’s foremost record and the cutting-edge 360-degree sensory space will connect visitors with the electrifying action of rock’s rise and reign like never before. With narration from actor and rock aficionado Kevin Bacon, the experience is a whirlwind tour across genres and generations that steps back into history to inspire a deeper understanding of the music’s present and future.

“Rolling Stone Presents: Amplified is the ultimate immersive rock experience, a journey through rock ‘n’ roll and its impact on popular culture,” said Brad Siegel, Executive Producer for Amplified and Founder of creators Brand New World Studios. “It’s full of breathtaking images and music, but we knew it needed to be more than a wild ride; it needed to be a story that explored the impact of the soundtrack of our lives because stories bring people together, help us interpret our experiences and find meaning.”

Amplified features more than 1,000 photographs, 200 videos and 1,300 Rolling Stone covers documenting over 300 iconic artists who forever changed music and the wider world. This trove of rock artifacts is fitted to the tremendous scale of Illuminarium, using 4K laser projection, 3D audio and interactive elements to assemble a fittingly titanic tribute to a genre and culture that continue to radically reshape popular culture.

Amplified’s affecting immersive environment begins with a merch booth and a full-service bar in the lobby enjoy and carries on through a series of eight sound and color-drenched chapters devoted to rock’s greatest acts, and the messages they shot across the world through their music. The exhibit features daring contributions from over 500 photographers and directors, including Mark Seliger, Danny Clinch, Lynn Goldsmith, Anton Corbijn, Bob Gruen, Jim Marshall, Neil Preston, Janette Beckman and Pooneh Ghana. In all, Amplified is without question one of the most comprehensive collections of rock imagery ever endeavored.
