She told Harper’s Bazaar, “I’ve picked up more fish, greens, and lentils.” Dr. Steve Hruby, a Doctor of Chiropractic and founder at Kaizen Progressive Health explains, “Eating fish is one of the best things you can do for your health. Fish are high in protein and omega-3 fatty acids, which are beneficial for your body. Protein helps you lose weight and stay in shape, while omega-3 fatty acids help improve your heart health. Eating fish at least once a week can help you lose weight and stay in shape.”
Bieber revealed what she eats daily to Elle and not shockingly she eats really clean foods like eggs, chicken, kale salads and grilled veggies. Melissa Mitri, a Registered Dietitian for FinvsFin.com shares, “Prioritizing whole foods is essential for weight loss because they keep you full and provide energy. In fact, research has shown people who eat more plant-based whole foods end up eating less calories! This is because eating more of them can help to curb cravings and prevent overeating. Nutritious whole foods for a healthy weight include lean chicken, fish, turkey, beans, legumes, greek yogurt, whole grains, nuts and seeds.”
She told Elle she’ll indulge every now and then, but does try to stay away from sugar. “Sometimes [I’ll do dessert]. I really like the Magnum bars, obviously that’s a great one. [But I generally try to avoid] sugar. Sugar’s a big one for everyone, I think.” Bishnu Pada Das, a personal trainer with the Crazy Athlete states, “Artificial sweeteners may help some people lose weight but are not effective for everyone. And you should also know that many experts remain concerned about its side effects and weight gain. Ultimately, it’s best to avoid all sweeteners as much as possible, but if you can’t do that, you could consider temporarily moving to artificial sweeteners from sugar. But your end goal should be to move to natural and reduce sweeteners eventually. So, instead, you can choose naturally sweet foods like whole fruits to satisfy your craving while taking advantage of the whole foods.”
“I used to be a dancer, so I love Pilates because it really elongates and strengthens my muscles. That’s probably my favorite workout,” she told Bazaar. Dr. Hruby shares, “Pilates is an exercise system that emphasizes alignment, breath, and core stability. Pilates can help you lose weight and stay in shape because it focuses on strengthening your core muscles. Additionally, Pilates can improve your flexibility and balance. When done regularly, Pilates can help you achieve a strong, toned physique.”
The model told Bazaar, “I also recently started to box for some cardio. I found that remembering the combinations and learning how to move your body in boxing has been good for mental health.” Thomas Roe (T.Roe), an ACE Certified Personal Trainer for over twenty-five years with Local Moves Studio explains, “Boxing is one of the most incredible full body workouts to date. While it might seem trendy or the new flavor of the fitness month, it’s one of the most demanding both mentally and physically. Unlike going for a jog or run, once you find your rhythm in the run – it’s easy to switch to autopilot. You can’t do that with boxing. It requires you to be present both mentally (anticipating punches, combinations, hit work and heavy bag training), while being physically engaged. Paired with clean eating, the demands of jump rope, running and actual boxing help keep the lbs off. In a 45-60 min training session, an athlete can burn up to 1000 calories. That’s no joke! Unlike weight training, boxing uses quick twitch muscles for balance and stability – which is perfect for sculpting and defining muscles. Because boxing requires and demands for you to be present the entire workout, it allows you to leave all your ‘issues’ at the door. It frees your mind of outside clutter and in the end, your issues will still be there but you will have trained and punched most of your aggression out).”
