Uber has responded after a woman went viral on TikTok with a video revealing that her own dad showed up as her driver.
Since its launch in 2016, TikTok has been the home for a wide variety of viral videos from users worldwide.
Videos that mention a popular brand often spark a response from the company, like Universal Studio’s response after a marriage proposal in front of the Grinch went viral.
In a video uploaded on February 24, 2025, TikToker Lil_Beckyy went viral after revealing that she ordered an Uber ride home and received her own dad as her driver.
TikToker gets own dad as Uber driver
“POV: That one time I called an Uber and my dad was the driver lmao,” read the text on top of the video.
Becky added: “Guys, it’s so funny. We just called an Uber, and look! It’s my dad!”
In a follow-up video, the TikToker showed her dad’s reaction and revealed that he joked about canceling the ride because he “kinda felt” it was Becky and her friends he was picking up.
Becky’s first video has amassed nearly 5M views on TikTok, garnering a response from hundreds of users and even Uber itself.
“Did you give him 5 stars or…..?” Uber asked.
Another said: “Now whenever your dad says “do you think I’m your personal driver?” You can say yes.”
“I ordered Uber Eats and my mom picked up my order and screenshot it and said ‘Dis you?’” commented a third user.
Becky’s video is just the latest clip to go massively viral across the short-form video app. TikTok’s “singing grandad” warmed the hearts of thousands of viewers with his cover of Pink Pony Club by Chappel Roan, and trends like the ‘Not my name quarterback’ and ‘Millenial burger place’ memes have taken over the app as well.
