TikTok has launched the #Rock hashtag as a new hub for heavy music fans to discover new music they love.

The first featured artist for the TikTok #Rock hashtag is Cassyette. TikTok is expanding on heavy metal’s popularity on the platform with trends like Skindred’s reggae metal trend, the Slipknot dance challenge, and Sleep Token’s new music. Now users will have a hub to discover new heavy music trends as they’re happening on TikTok.

Well-known for merging metal and rock-inspired sounds with modern-day electronic pop, Cassyette’s unique sound has caught the attention of the music industry. She’s amassed over 22 million likes and 1.2 million followers on the platform posting content like new music, secret street gigs, and duets with fellow artists like Baby Tate.

The SoundOn artist started her career as a DJ and songwriter, becoming one of London’s biggest emerging artists after her debut single “Jean” in 2019. She was nominated as one of TikTok’s Breakthrough Artists of 2022

“Thank you TikTok for featuring me as the face of #Rock! The rock and alt community is thriving right now on TikTok,” Cassyette adds of the feature. “It’s hot and has been such a great place for so many of us to share our music. I’ve found so many artists/bands on here myself and have been smashed up in so many pits because of it, so cheers!”

“It’s been seriously amazing to experience the power duets can hold and how they have brought us such a simple way to cross over with each other and make two worlds collide. It means a lot to me knowing so many people have been able to discover my art on here and then come to my shows as a result.”

The #Rock hashtag on TikTok has already amassed over 200 million video views in 2023. TikTok has also helped revive countless classic rock classics, exposing them to an entirely new generation of fans.
