British TV presenter Maya Jama is well-known for her roles as the stunning host of Love Island UK, Love Island Games, and Love Island: All Stars. Jama never fails to make a fashion statement in a gorgeous outfit, and she’s incredibly fit. In February 2024, the host spilled some of her secrets that help keep her in top shape in an interview with Women’s Health, including “the only form of exercise” that doesn’t feel like a chore.
1. Maya Jama Loves Pilates
Jama is a major fan of Pilates—so much so that she never has to convince herself to do it.
“Everyone I know is riding the Pilates wave, so I decided to start and I’m absolutely loving it,” she told Women’s Health. “I do one-to-one sessions with Marsha Lindsay at Nobu London and it’s great because it’s a lighter workout but you’re using every single muscle. You can also do it at midday, and it doesn’t leave you drenched with sweat. It’s the only form of exercise that I don’t have to talk myself into doing, and that’s a big thing for me!”

2. She Includes Variety in Her Workout Routine
Jama seems to be a firm believer in doing multiple things to keep herself fit. She told Women’s Health that she performs various types of workouts with her trainer, Warren Whitely, including cycling and weight training.
“I train with Woz regularly, and we’ll do circuit training, a little bit of cardio and then weights,” she says. “Since filming in South Africa [for Love Island] I’ve also started cycling every day. I’m too scared to do it in London but here there are loads of open roads.”

3. She Performs Vigorous Exercise
Jama broke down an intense training regimen she performed before heading to Australia for I’m A Celeb.
“I started a vigorous summer workout plan, which consisted of three sets of burpees, jumping squats and planks (non-stop for 20 seconds then 40 seconds rest), followed by seated shoulder presses (three sets of ten reps), squats (three sets of ten reps), crunches (three rounds of 20 seconds non-stop plus a 40 second rest) and press-ups (three sets of ten reps).”

4. She Boxes
Boxing is another productive workout Jama enjoys.
“I have loads of energy so lately I’ve been trying to channel that into an exercise routine,” the celeb told Women’s Health. “I’m actually finding it quite fun. Once a week, I do a one-hour boxing workout with my trainer Bradley Simmonds, who keeps me motivated.”

5. She Does At-Home Workouts
Jama doesn’t need to hit the gym to get a solid workout in. She shared some of her favorite at-home workouts with Stylish.
“Every morning I put good music on and dance around my bedroom or run up and down the stairs,” she told the outlet. “I’ve found wearing ankle weights really useful, putting on thick socks and weights while I do my daily activities for some extra resistance. And I’ve got a bike in front of my TV so I can jump on that when I’m watching something.”
