Just two days after his swoon-worthy appearance at the Emmy Awards, Jonathan Bailey is setting fans’ hearts aflutter once again.
The “Bridgerton” actor can be spotted in a trailer released Tuesday for the third season of “Heartstopper,” Netflix’s LGBTQ-inclusive teen series.
He portrays Jack Maddox, a musician turned scholar from Alice Oseman’s “Heartstopper” graphic novels, on which the Netflix show is based.
Jack certainly leaves a lasting impression on teen boyfriends Charlie Spring (played by Joe Locke) and Nick Nelson (Kit Connor), who met as students at a secondary school in small-town England.
Bailey’s casting — first revealed earlier this year — is just one of several surprises circling Season 3 of “Heartstopper,” which hits Netflix on Oct. 3. The new episodes follow Charlie and Nick as they “face their relationship’s biggest challenge yet,” according to press notes.
As for their group of pals, which includes Elle Argent (Yasmin Finney) and Isaac Henderson (Tobie Donovan), they, too, “must learn to lean on those they love when life doesn’t go to plan.”
The first season of “Heartstopper” premiered on Netflix in 2022 to sterling reviews and impassioned fan discourse on social media, putting Connor and Locke on the Hollywood map.

Speaking to HuffPost that same year, the two actors said they anticipated their characters’ mental health would be explored in greater depth as the series progressed. The show’s overall impact on its predominantly young audience, they noted, was fortuitous.
“I felt very emotional when I first heard that a fan had used a scene I’d filmed to come out to their parents,” Connor said at the time. “That’s a real ‘pinch me’ moment, and that’s what told me this show has an effect on the audience that even we didn’t expect.”
