KitKat and ketchup viral trend has die-hard fans feeling ‘sick’- but some are more disgusted by how they’re eating it

A challenge has resurfaced on TikTok where people are trying Kit-Kats with ketchup

A DISGUSTING new challenge has surfaced online urging people to eat their Kit-Kats with ketchup.

The trend is going viral on TikTok, where videos are raking in millions of views, with some even likening the combination to pineapples on pizza.

The challenge appears to have first started in 2021, but has since resurfaced and gone viral again.

But this time, the trend has gotten so big, that even Heinz and Kit-Kat jumped in and teased a new ketchup-flavored chocolate bar on Instagram.

KitKat also posted a video of employees testing the ketchup-chocolate combo for themselves to mixed reviews from both the employees and the comments.

“Jail. Now,” one of the top comments read.

Even Kit-Kat’s own Canadian page was confused.

“Is everything ok over there?,” they asked in the comments.

One influencer, One Big Pike, posted his reaction to trying the unlikely combination on TikTok, calling it “surprisingly good.”

“Does the government know about this?” he asked.

“This feels illegal, this should be illegal,” he continued.

“Why does this work?”

Some people, however, seem more concerned about the way people have been straight-up biting into the Kit-Kat, instead of breaking them off as intended.

“The way you ate it should be illegal,” sarcastically replied one viewer.

“Why’d you bite that sh*t like an apple?,” asked another.

But even though this combination is unconventional, a lot of people on social media are saying it works.

It turns out, that eating tomatoes with chocolate isn’t as crazy as it seems, according to Foodie.

The salty-ness of the tomatoes, being derived from berries, actually pairs well with the sweet cacao of the KitKat.

Much like sweet and salty treats, the two opposite flavors actually come together in unexpected harmony.

At least for some, as not everybody found the combo delicious.

One influencer, TrishDoesThings, gave the snack a chance and hated it so bad she had to spit it out.

“No thank you,” she said as she spit out the combo, giving it a -10 out of 10.
