A PLUS-SIZE fashionista has been brutally advised to fork out for a surgery to get rid of her ”apron belly”.
Style lover Lindsey, who is a size 22/24, has a medical condition known as ”apron belly”, also known as pannus stomach.
The term is used to describe a sagging stomach or skin that hangs from the abdomen area, which usually – but not always – occurs after pregnancy or changes in weight.
While having a pannus stomach is not exclusive to plus-size people only, this condition can cause discomfort and even lead to skin infections.
Lindsey, who regularly shares fashion-related content to her 228k fans on TikTok, is just one of the many body positivity influencers raising awareness about the ”mother’s apron”.
But despite the positive message and call for change, the dark-haired beauty was recently brutally trolled on her page after sharing a clip of herself trying on different jeans.
The video saw the style lover chat about her figure a little, describing her thighs as ”really thin”, as well as having absolutely ”no butt”.
”Finding jeans is one of the hardest things to do when you have this body shape,” said Lindsey before modelling some of her favourite denim bottoms.
These ranged from the on-trend flared jeans to skinny denim trousers, as well as black jeans with a distressed bottom hem and a wide-legged khaki number.
However, although the influencer looked fabulous, some of the comments on the platform were anything but kind.
One person wonder if Lindsey had ever considered surgery, writing: ”They have a surgery for us apron belly girls. Have you looked into it?
”I forgot what it’s called but I think you would be a candidate. and it’s covered by insurance.”
Another wondered: ”So does the apron belly go away if you were to lose weight or does it just stay like that even if you do?”
A third remarked: ”Did you ever tried to get the operation through the insurance, because I saw a lot of cases where apron belly caused the infections due to it’s size.
Luckily for the plus-size fashionista, who’s previously been compared to Mike Wazowski from Monsters Inc., the comments were mainly positive, with fans racing to show support.
”As someone with a belly and super short legs I rarely wear jeans! I’ll check out these brands,” a fellow style enthusiast thanked Lindsey for the haul.
”Love your confidence!” someone else chimed in, adding a love heart at the end of their comment.
