Bad Bunny Is Spotify’s Most-Streamed Artist for the Third Year in a Row

For the third year in a row, Bad Bunny is Spotify’s most-streamed artist worldwide.

As revealed by the streaming platform in its annual Spotify Wrapped, Bad Bunny held onto the top spot after he was the most-streamed artist in 2020 and 2021. To celebrate the achievement, Spotify has temporarily changed the heart button to the sad-face cyclops heart featured on the cover of his most recent album, Un Verano Sin Ti. Bad Bunny also scored two songs in the most-streamed songs globally list, with “Me Porto Bonito” with Chencho Coreleon at No. 4 and “Tití Me Preguntó” at No. 5.

Coming in behind Bad Bunny is Taylor Swift, who released her chart-topping tenth studio album Midnights last month, as the second most-streamed artist of the year. Drake, with two full-length projects to his name this year, landed at No. 3, while The Weeknd’s Dawn FM carried him to the No. 4 spot. Another worldwide sensation rounded out the top five, as K-Pop phenoms BTS were the fifth most-streamed in 2022.

Unsurprisingly, Bad Bunny’s Un Verano Sin Ti was the most-streamed album of the year. There’s clearly a reason Drake rapped “Bad Bunny numbers, it’s a robbery” on the Her Loss track “Major Distribution.” When considering just the United States, he still came in at No. 3, behind Drake and Taylor Swift.

The Puerto Rican superstar is set to bring his insane level of popularity to Sony’s Marvel movie El Muerto in 2024, which just recently hired Alfonso Cuarón’s son Jonás Cuarón as director.
