TikTok’s revamped Creator Fund called the ‘Creativity Program Beta’ is now open to all creators in the United States. Here’s a peek at the eligibility requirements.
TikTok started its Creator Fund revamp in February, testing this new program with a handful of creators. The idea is to generate more real-world opportunities for creators, while also helping them generate higher revenue.
TikTok Creativity Fund Program — Eligibility Requirements
- Creators must have a U.S.-based account
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Have at least 10,000 Followers
- Accrued 100,000 views in the last 30 days
Once all of these requirements are met, U.S.-based creators can apply to join the program. Once approved and part of this new program, creators cannot participate in the old Creator Fund model. TikTok hasn’t committed to whether this new model will replace the old Creator Fund model, but it’s likely. Considering the Creator Fund launched in 2020 with a $1 billion commitment to creators over the course of three years, we’re coming up on its expiration date. Creators have been complaining about low payout rates on TikTok since the beginning of 2023.
“The Creativity Program Beta is in its early stages, and we’re continuously exploring ways to improve the experience for our creator community and the way creators are rewarded,” TikTok says about the new program. “We’re looking forward to hearing feedback from our community.”
One noticeable change between the two is that the new program focuses on creating high-quality, original videos that are lengthier than a minute. TikTok earned its massive audience through short-form videos of less than a minute in length, but it’s moving beyond that.
The new platform also gives creators access to a dashboard that provides important video analytics, estimated revenue, metrics, and any alerts to be addressed. The idea seems to be to re-create the YouTube Creator dashboard experience with a focus on rewarding longer content.
