Thousands Gather for Ozzy Osbourne's Funeral Procession, Joined by His Grieving Family

A funeral procession for Ozzy Osbourne took place on Wednesday (July 30th) with thousands of people lining the streets of Birmingham, England. At one point, the Osbourne family exited their vehicles to stop at a fan memorial at the Black Sabbath Bridge, where a visibly emotional Sharon Osbourne was consoled by her children Jack, Kelly, and Aimee.

The procession was led by a brass band that played Black Sabbath and Ozzy songs such as “Iron Man” and “Crazy Train.” The vehicles paused at the Black Sabbath Bridge, where Sharon, Jack, Kelly, Aimee, and other family members stepped out for several minutes to look at the hundreds of flowers and notes left by fans.

Sharon appeared overwhelmed by the moment, breaking down in tears, as Kelly and Jack held her up, Fans started cheering, “Ozzy, Ozzy, Ozzy,” as the family approached the makeshift memorial.

A private funeral for family and friends is set to follow the procession; no details have been made public as far as the timing and location.

Ozzy passed away on July 22nd at the age of 76, just 17 days after playing his final solo and Black Sabbath shows at Villa Park in Birmingham as part of the “Back to the Beginning” concert.
