A week after sharing the tragic news of his his late stepdaughter Lucy-Bleu Knight’s passing, Slash has penned a heartfelt tribute via Instagram.
The guitarist posted the following message along with a picture of Knight:
“My heart is permanently fractured. I will never ever stop missing you & remembering what a beacon of happiness, laughter, creativity & beauty you have always been. & still are. The brightest light in the lives of so many that loved you so much. I find solace in the hope that you are at peace now. I will love you eternally. #LBK”.
Lucy-Bleu Knight tragically passed away on July 19th at the age of 25. She was the daughter of Mark Knight and Slash’s current partner Meegan Hodges.
Many of Slash’s friends and colleagues commented on his tribute post on Instagram, offering condolences and words of support.
Wrote Lenny Kravitz, “My deepest condolences brother. And yes, she still IS! Love to the family.”
Tom Morello remarked, “Ahh I’m so sorry my friend. Love to you and family.”
Chris Daughtry wrote, “I’m so sorry brother. This is heartbreaking. Sending my love.”
Twelve hours prior to revealing the news of Lucy-Bleu’s passing, Slash had announced the cancellation of four shows on his ongoing S.E.R.P.E.N.T. blues festival tour due to “unforeseen circumstances.” The outing resumed in Toronto on Sunday (July 28th), and the tour presses onward Wednesday (July 30th) with a gig in Lewiston, New York.
