Who would make up your dream supergroup, comprised of musicians living or dead? That’s the question that Heavy Consequence asked members of several rock bands.
Godsmack frontman Sully Erna had a simple answer, naming the four members of Led Zeppelin: “I’m just gonna say it’s already been done. God chose Robert Plant, Jimmy Page, John Bonham, and John Paul Jones — that’s the supergroup of all time!”
His bandmate Shannon Larkin also chose Bonham on the drums, but went with David Bowie on vocals, Flea or Robert Trujillo on bass, and Extreme’s Nuno Bettencort on guitar.
Deafheaven singer George Clarke had one of the most eclectic combinations, selecting one-time Mars Volta member Thomas Pridgen on drums, late Pantera legend Dimebag Darrell on guitar, Bootsy Collins on bass, and Judas Priest’s Rob Halford as the singer.
Other musicians who named their ideal supergroups include Code Orange’s Jami Morgan, L7’s Donita Sparks, Bad Omens’ Joakim “Jolly” Karlsson, Dethklok’s Brendon Small, Asking Alexandria’s Danny Worsnop, and 311’s P-Nut. See who they all chose by watching the video above.
