The concert film captured the band playing in the tunnels of the Catacombs of Paris. A press release describes the performance as “an unprecedented incarnation of QOTSA at their most intimate, yet surrounded by literally millions of human remains,” with Homme theorizing that it was “the biggest audience we’ve ever played for.”

Meanwhile, the documentary Alive in Paris and Before offers “an exclusive behind the scenes chronicle of the tumultuous days leading up to the Catacombs performance [in July 2024] … an emotionally charged period that included the agonizing decision to postpone the remaining “The End is Nero” tour dates due to Joshua Homme’s medical emergency.”

Both films arrive less than week before Queens of the Stone Age launch their US tour with support from The Kills, dates that were rescheduled after the aforementioned postponements in 2024. The tour will start with two nights in Boston on June 10th and 11th, making stops in Atlantic City, New Jersey; Columbus, Ohio; Cincinnati; and Madison, Wisconsin, before wrapping with a final date in Chicago on June 21st.
