Fresh off the announcement of her new album, Forever Is a Feeling, Lucy Dacus stopped by The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on Wednesday night to debut new song “Ankles.” Watch the video of the performance below.
Looking regal in a billowy red dress, Dacus performed “Ankles” on the Tonight Show stage against a backdrop reminiscent of the upcoming album’s artwork. Accompanied by a backing string section, she leaned into the song’s flirtatious frankness with lines like, “Pull me by the ankles to the edge of the bed, and take me like you do in your dreams,” over a steady pulse of guitars.
Due out March 28th, Forever Is a Feeling is Dacus’ fourth studio album, and the first to arrive since she contributed to boygenius’ 2023 releases, their Grammy-winning debut album the record, and an EP titled the rest.
“Ankles” arrived alongside another single titled “Limerence.” Pre-orders for Forever Is a Feeling are ongoing.
Next month, Dacus will perform a string of intimate shows in cities like Brooklyn, Chicago, and Los Angeles, followed by a proper North American tour kicking off in April.
