Knocked Loose have dropped a crushing new song “Don’t Reach for Me,” the latest single from their forthcoming album, You Won’t Go Before You’re Supposed To.
Following the pummeling harsher and lead single “Blinding Faith,” the hardcore outfit offer up a more experimental and prog-like track on “Don’t Reach for Me.”

The implementation of extreme metal drumming gives a sense of unpredictability, with blast beats turning into thrashy gallops — something found more in black metal (and specifically the “black ‘n roll” sub-genre) as opposed to hardcore. And just like on the previous single, the howls of frontman Bryan Garris absolutely slice through the mix.
Regarding the lyrics, Garris called it the “may be the meanest song I’ve ever written” and a takedown of “someone who tried their hardest to come into my life and mess with two out of the three closest people I have.”
Based on the tracks we’ve heard so far, You Won’t Go Before You’re Supposed To is setting up to be one of the strongest hardcore releases of 2024.
“On this album, we go the fastest we’ve ever gone; we go the scariest we’ve ever gone,” stated guitarist Isaac Hale in a press release. “We also go the catchiest and the most melodic that we’ve ever gone, and that’s the point. Instead of branching off into a specific direction, we want to encompass all directions.”
Knocked Loose will be supporting their new album with a North American tour that kicks off April 27th at Sick New World in Las Vegas (get tickets here). You Won’t Go Before You’re Supposed To drops two weeks later on May 10th.
