Actor Corey Feldman is currently supporting Limp Bizkit’s ongoing tour, and part of his musical act includes some pretty wild guitar soloing.
Clips of Feldman’s unexpected shredding have gone viral, sparking a debate as to whether he was actually playing the guitar or not. Due to Feldman’s unconventional and somewhat rudimentary style, many were convinced that the Goonies star was also acting out his guitar fantasies and “lip syncing” the performance, air guitar-style.

So at a recent stop on the “Loserville” tour in Alabama, Fred Durst took it upon himself to find out whether Feldman’s crazy solos were real. As seen in audience footage, Durst walks out onstage with a chair, places the seat next to Feldman, and takes the mic.
“Word on the street is Corey Feldman isn’t playing this guitar solo,” Durst says to the crowd, before taking a seat in a chair for a better view. “I wanna know if Corey Feldman is really playing this motherf**king solo. How ’bout you?”
Feldman then proceeds to play the solo that has garnered the most attention, an ascending “scale” that essentially sees him employing the most basic alternate picking while dragging his left hand down the fretboard. Thick use of reverb on his pedalboard creates the effect that he’s playing more notes than he is, which might be what’s throwing viewers off.
After one round down the fretboard, Durst tells Feldman to “stop, stop… start again,” proving that there’s no “lip sync” backing track playing behind him. This time Feldman busts out the hilarious “guitar hero faces,” as he calls them, which are a part of his act.
“He’s fucking doing it!” yells Durst to the crowd.
Feldman has addressed the accusations of faking himself, commenting on Instagram: “I’m laughing so hard, cuz that would imply some gr8 guitarist played it 4 me & I’m [the] air guitarist. The best part is I’m not even that good, hence the guitar hero faces.”
The “Loserville” tour continues Thursday (August 15th) with a gig in Albuquerque, New Mexico, and runs through August 24th in San Bernardino, California (get tickets here).
