Eddie Vedder has contributed a cover of The English Beat’s “Save It For Later” to the new season of The Bear.
With Pearl Jam, Vedder has covered the song in past as part of a live medley of “Betterman.” However, this marks the first official studio release of the cover. It’s now available on all major DSPs and can also be streamed below.
Vedder’s involvement is fitting, given his roots in Evanston, Illinois, which is just a short distance from Chicago, the setting of The Bear. The show also previously featured needle drops of Pearl Jam songs “Animal” and “Come Back.”
All 10 episode of The Bear’s third season is now streaming on Hulu (subscribe for a free trial here).
As for Pearl Jam, the band recently launched a UK/European summer tour with a show in Dublin during which Vedder paid tribute to Shane MacGowan and Sinead O’Connor by covering Warren Zevon’s “Keep Me in Your Heart.” They’re due back in America for more shows in late August.
