De La Soul have announced they are playing a pay-what-you-want concert at New York City’s Lincoln Center in January.
The show will take place on January 17th, 2025 at the Wu Tsai Theater in David Geffen Hall, the home of the New York Philharmonic. As of publishing, the on-sale date isn’t listed on the event page, but the suggested ticket price is $35.
It is worth noting, however, that the minimum ticket price for other events in Lincoln Center’s Choose-What-You-Pay series is $5. Upcoming shows include doom metal act Sunn O))), Portuguese singer Mariza, and organist Kali Malone.
De La Soul have continued as a duo with surviving members Posdnuos and Maseo following Dave “Trugoy the Dove” Jolicoeur’s sudden death in February 2023. Since then, they’ve been joined on stage by the likes of Pharoahe Monch and Talib Kweli.
Listen to Maseo discuss Trugoy’s death and their upcoming album AOI 3 with Kyle Meredith below.
In late July, De La Soul performed a standout set at Newport Folk Festival. They’re set to play the Oakland festival Hip-Hop 101: From New York to The Bay (get tickets here) alongside Public Enemy and Cypress Hill this November.
