David Lynch and Chrystabell have unveiled “The Answers to the Questions,” the latest song from the duo”s forthcoming collaborative album, Cellophane Memories.
Across six stirring minutes, Lynch and Chrystabell conjure a moody, slow-burning atmosphere on “The Answers to the Questions.” Chrystabell utters phrases and repeats them like mantras, her entrancing vocals layered together in a collage. A solemn, cinematic guitar strums underneath her, giving the track a more mysterious edge.
“The Answers to the Questions” also arrives with an accompanying visual directed and animated by David Lynch. The visual is mostly a still image of a room drawn in black, with Chrystabell in the doorway — however, as the song burns along, the visual slowly changes and Lynch’s typical surrealism creeps in. Lynch and Chrystabell’s “The Answers to the Questions” follows “Sublime Eternal Love,” the similarly-entrancing lead single off Cellophane Memories. The third musical collaboration between Lynch and Chrystabell, Cellophane Memories features contributions from the late Twin Peaks composer Angelo Badalamenti and is out everywhere on August 2nd.
