A new compilation titled We Love It Here. has been released, benefiting Lamplight AVL, a non-profit organization supporting the Asheville-area arts community impacted by Hurricane Helene. It features previously unreleased songs by Asheville’s own MJ Lenderman, as well as Animal Collective, Squirrel Flower, and more.
Recorded at Ashville’s Drop of Sun Studios, the album is out now digitally for Bandcamp Friday, along with a vinyl pre-order limited to 1,000 copies that features an extra track from Animal Collective. Other featured artists include Reggie Watts, Fust, Green-House, Sophie Thatcher, Maral, Nightlands, Horse Jumper Of Love, Hello Mary, and Floating Action.
“The remarkable breadth of these previously unreleased tracks reflect Drop of Sun’s core principle of fostering an environment for artists to freely and boundlessly create,” Drop of Sun founder Adam McDaniel said in a statement. “Being a resource to the Asheville arts community has yielded wonderful, long-lasting relationships, amazing songs like these, and a platform to communicate and cope during hard times. We are thrilled to share these exclusive songs with you.”
