Acid Bath have added three new festival appearances to their 2025 schedule, marking their first shows in 28 years. The reunited Louisiana sludge metal legends will play Welcome to Rockville, Inkcarceration, and Louder Than Life, in addition to a previously announced performance at Sonic Temple.
At Louder Than Life, Acid Bath join Slayer as the only bands announced thus far. Meanwhile, Acid Bath have been revealed as the mystery band that was previously blurred out on the poster for Welcome to Rockville, featuring headliners Green Day, Linkin Park, and dozens more acts.
Sonic Temple takes place May 8th-11th in Columbus, Ohio (buy tickets); Welcome to Rockville is set for May 15th-18th in Daytona Beach, Florida (buy tickets); Inkcarceration takes place July 18th-20th in Mansfield, Ohio (buy tickets); and Louder Than Life is slated for September 18th-21st in Louisville, Kentucky (buy tickets).
In addition to the four Danny Wimmer Presents festivals, Acid Bath were slated to play Sick New World in Las Vegas, but that fest has since been canceled.
Acid Bath’s initial run only lasted from 1991 though 1997, with the band breaking up after bassist Audie Pitre and his parents were tragically killed by a drunk driver. In that short time, Acid Bath released two highly influential albums: When the Kite String Pops (1994) and Paegan Terrorism Tactics (1996).
For the 2025 shows, lead singer Dax Riggs, guitarist-vocalist Sammy “Pierre” Duet (now of Goatwhore), and guitarist-vocalist Mike Sanchez from the classic lineup will be joined by drummer Zack Simmons and bassist Alex Bergeron.
