Whoopi Goldberg & Sunny Hostin Argue On ‘The View’
On Tuesday’s episode of “The View,” Goldberg acted in an unlikely manner by walking off the set amid an argument with her co-hosts.
The discussion revolved around the viral video of Miranda Lambert expressing frustration towards fans taking selfies during her concert in Las Vegas.
Upon reviewing the viral video, Sunny Hostin pitched her tent with the concert attendees, defending their right to take as many selfies as they desired, especially considering the high cost of the show. Hostin even stated that she would have done the same in their position.
However, Goldberg had a different perspective and explained that attending a show is about immersing oneself in the performance.
“You know what? Stay home. If you’re going to spend $750 to come to my concert, then give me the respect of watching me while I do my thing, or don’t come,” Goldberg replied.
Whoopi Goldberg Walks Off The Set To Prove A Point
After Goldberg’s reply, Hostin went on to explain the reason behind her wanting to take snapshots whenever she goes for a show.
“Maybe I wanna play it again,” the 54-year-old said, hinting that she wanted to do so to have memorable throwbacks. She added, “Maybe I want the picture, and I want the music in the background.”
Goldberg, seemingly exasperated by the back and forth, remarked aloud, “I’m leaving y’all!.” She then abruptly left her seat, leaving her bewildered co-hosts questioning her actions.
In a playful bid to then assert her stance, she approached an audience member and requested a snapshot together just before the show went into intermission.
Goldberg said, “I want to take a picture with this marvelous woman, who is 91. So, we’re going to do a selfie. Just me and you. Will you push that button?”

Lambert’s call-out of certain attendees at her show has also sparked various reactions from fans online. Several have expressed their displeasure, criticizing the singer for attempting to dictate what her audience can or cannot do during her performances.
“Is she going to call people out for going to the bathroom too? That was so uncalled for…if I paid…I will take as many pics as I want,” one person commented.
“I mean if they are having a good time, taking pictures (to look back on) and they aren’t bothering anyone – why is she worried about it,” a second fan mentioned.
Others vowed that if they were in the shoes of those called out by Lambert, they would have left the concert.
“i would’ve left and disputed the charges on my card for the tickets. if I paid to be there, I’m gonna spend it how i want,” someone else noted.
“I feel like everyone should have left at that moment that’s sad,” one more person commented.
Miranda Faced More Criticism
Recently, Lambert faced further criticism from online users after posting about animal care while she is yet to address her actions at her concert.
The singer, who is also an avid animal advocate, uploaded a picture of herself wearing a shirt with the quote, “It takes balls…to spay and neuter your pets!”
Lambert doubled down in the caption and asked fans to hit the link to “learn why it’s important” and purchase their own shirts.
Fans found the post to be insensitive, and some of them creatively used words from her caption to troll the singer.
One commented, “How about you neuter your nasty attitude towards your fans?” while another penned, “It takes balls not to apologize or see a problem with your actions.”
A third person wrote, “This girl is taking a selfie when she should be apologizing, and it’s really PISSING ME OFF.”
