IT’s the most wonderful time of the year… for most of us!
But for some A-listers, Christmas is less mistletoe and mulled wine and more misery and moaning.
These stars have proven even the rich and famous aren’t immune to a good old-fashioned Grinch moment.
Miley Cyrus
Pop rebel Miley Cyrus is no stranger to shocking her fans.
But who knew the Wrecking Ball singer is smashing more than walls – she’s wrecking Christmas!
Miley has admitted the festive period gives her the blues, calling it “a waste of time and money.”
Back in 2019 she even wrote a song about it called My Sad Christmas Song to hammer her point home.
Colin Firth
Yes, Mr. Darcy himself, known for his heart-melting jumpers in Love Actually, isn’t feeling the Christmas love.
British heartthrob Colin Firth has said he finds the season “stressful.” No turkey for Colin, then?
He confessed to The Mail that he doesn’t even listen to the radio at Christmas as it makes him “homicidal”.
He said: “I have a profound loathing of Christmas – it’s sad really.
“At this time of year, I am careful not to switch on the radio because those novelty jingles make me homicidal and plunge me into the heart of Scrooge territory.”
Lady Gaga
The queen of pop eccentricity isn’t about to don a Santa hat anytime soon.
During her London show in 2010 Lady Gaga bit the head off a Santa toy and declared: “I hate the holidays!
“I’m alone and miserable, you f**king dumb bit of toy!”
She then stamped on the toy with her stilettos and screamed: “I hate the holidays!” in front of the 20,000 strong crowd.
She then declared: “He was pregnant … with chemicals not meant for children.”
Sir Rod Stewart
Sir Rod Stewart‘s wife Penny Lancaster gave a glimpse into their Christmas when she revealed the Stay With Me singer isn’t a fan.
“Rod doesn’t love Christmas,” Penny revealed in 2021 while appearing on Loose Women.
“He can’t wait till the decorations are down and his house is back to normal,” the former model said.
To make the rocker feel better, she sometimes dresses as sexy Mrs. Claus when wrapping presents.
“Just to lift his mood I put a little Father … Lady Christmas on,” Penny revealed. “It puts a big smile on his face.”
Denise Welch
Loose Women legend Denise Welch went as far as calling this time of the “the c word.”
She wrote in the Manchester Evening News: “ What I mostly hate about winter in the UK is …. the C word. Yes Christmas. My kids are banned from talking about it until at least the beginning of December.
“It’s not the actual day so much, although that’s often a trial when today’s ‘blended families’ come together for what is basically Sunday dinner when they’d much rather be somewhere else.”
Professor Green
Rapper Professor Green has admitted he hates Christmas after losing a string of people close to him.
The star, real name Stephen Manderson, said back in 2018: “It’s Christmas Eve, my great grandmother passed on Dec 18th when I was 13 and I’ve hated Christmas ever since.
“If you’re feeling lonely you ain’t the only one, but it’s only a couple of days so on the off chance they’re hard for you too, take the opportunity to have a look into the sadness, let it up and out.
“If you’re going through it, keep going, it’s the only way to get through anything, otherwise you end up stuck in it.”
He added: “It’s sold to us as this joyous time of year, which to me just reminds me of all the financial stresses in my household growing up –
it became more about what I didn’t have than what I did.
“Don’t feel like you have to enjoy it, if you too find it hard, just know that many, many more do too.”
He added in a later post on Christmas Eve: “And don’t get me started on the fact that what little family I do have is fractured and there’s no one place where everyone who is still around is,
“Because that’s what families are like, mad. It’s only Christmas.
“Just think, if you weren’t told repeatedly from every angle that it’s Christmas and it’s time to have fun it would just be another day that you probably wouldn’t struggle with.”
Noel Gallagher
There’s no ‘joyeux Noel’ for the Oasis rocker, who told FACT: “The entire f*****g period is a fucking stain on society, I f*****g hate it with a passion.
“The jingles – when John Lewis put my tune in an ad last Christmas, I loved that, at that particular point I thought, ‘Do you know what, I’ll give Christmas a second chance.’
“I gave it a second chance and it was too much food, too much ‘We are the world’, the jumpers, the TV presenters, the disappointed kids’ faces in my house when they go, ‘But I asked for a spider,’ and you’re like, ‘No but it’s illegal to bring the fucking spiders into this country.
“’What about the African tree frog I asked for?’
“That’s in a tree in Africa, we’re in Madia Vale.
“It’s so boring, it’s unbelievable, and those little sausages, what are they called? Chipolatas. That sounds like a circus troop from the 1950s.
“We are not the f*****g world, we are not the children, Christmas is for divs.”
Ozzy Osbourne
Ozzy Osbourne hit out at Christmas in an expletive-filled rant.
The Prince of Darkness refuses to light up even just once a year, he told The Express: “I f**king hate Christmas.
“I f**king hate it. Everything stops. When I used to drink it was a good excuse to get f**ked for two weeks. Now I just hate it.”
And his shopping loving wife Sharon doesn’t help matters: “I have to unravel all these f**king presents.
“What a ****ing waste of paper.”
