NICOLE Kidman broke down in tears over her parents’ deaths after being presented with a prestigious award.
The Australian actress, 57, was honoured with the Palm Springs International Film Awards’ International Star gong, which was presented by Jamie Lee Curtis.
Speaking on stage inside the Palm Springs Convention Center, Nicole said: “I went home over Christmas. I’ve lost both my parents, and I’m in that place, like, ok, this is different now.
“They’ve given me the resilience and they’ve given me the love and they’ve given me the strength to keep moving forward.”
Nicole left the Venice Film Festival in September after it was revealed that her mom, Janelle Ann, had died at the age of 84.
The A-list Hollywood actress, who is married to country music star Keith Urban, appeared at the iconic festival for winning the Best Actress award for her role in Babygirl.

Babygirl director Halina Reijin accepted Nicole’s award and revealed to the audience why The Perfect Couple star made her sudden exit.
Nicole referenced the unexpected exit from that event and continued: “Now I’m on stage, and I’m back here. Thank you for giving me the chance to say this is for my mom.
“My whole career has been for my mom and my dad and they’re not here anymore. I want to keep working and giving to the world.
“I’m sorry I’m crying. I didn’t want to do that but I feel my mama right now. This is for your mama.”
In Nicole’s heartbreaking statement from the Venice event, she spoke of her shock and how her mom, Janelle, had guided her.
She said: “The collision of life and art is heartbreaking and my heart is broken.”
Nicole had more heartbreak in 2014 when her father Anthony died following a fall, aged 75.
The A-lister previously spoke of her devastation visiting her dad in the morgue and called her response “awful” as she “shook and laughed”.
In a 2020 interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Nicole spoke highly of her mother.
“She’s given me the fire to pursue the career I have because I’ve always wanted to please her,” the Eyes Wide Shut star said at the time.
“But she also carved her own path and wanted her daughters to have the same opportunity to carve their own paths.
“Mum didn’t necessarily get the career that she wanted, but she was determined that her daughters would have opportunities that were equal.”
“That’s given me my life. And she gave me my life, she and my dad,” she concluded.
