Tatyana Ali is bringing an enormous dose of freshness to the small screens!

The 43-year-old who played Ashley Banks in the original NBC sitcom “The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air” from 1990 to 1996 for all its six seasons is set to guest star in the upcoming season of “Bel-Air” which premieres February 23, as revealed by the promotional clip that has been released.

The trailer for the upcoming season gives a first look into Ali’s new role as a teacher to her 90s character. Also, it shows us a glimpse of Will getting recruited by big-time basketball scouts and Carlton tangled up in a vicious fistfight.

TVLine shared that Ali will play the role of an English teacher named Mrs. Hughes to Ashley-in person of Akira Akbar. According to the description, “the English Literature teacher at Bel-Air middle school who sees something special in Ashley, often giving her books from her personal collection.”

The series is a dramatic take on the original comedy series that follows Will’s [Jabari Banks] complicated journey from West Philadelphia’s streets to the gated Bel-Air mansions. However, season two will find the character “at a crossroads as a new figure comes into his life who challenges what he’s learned in Bel-Air and competes for control of his influence.”

New episodes will see his two worlds collide, which forces him to get acquainted with the power of second chances while steering through the conflicts, biases, and emotions of a world far different from the only one he’s ever known. Plus, Will and Carlton’s brotherhood will “start to evolve as they grow closer, but still challenge each other about their differences” during these episodes.

Per the news outlet synopsis, the show’s newest episode will also see Will “navigating his home life with the Banks family and trying to rebuild the trust that was broken at the end of last season.”

The “Love That Girl!” actress celebrated the series’ upcoming season and gave her thousands of followers the news of her return. The upload on Instagram was captioned, “And the story continues.
