BLAKE Lively has stepped out in a high-fashion look previously worn by Britney Spears and paid homage to the star online.
The Gossip Girl star posed in the iconic outfit at the It Ends With Us premiere.

Photos from the event began circulating online, with fans putting pics of Blake, 36, in the dress next to snaps of Britney, 42, wearing it in 2002.
The actress, who is married to Ryan Reynolds, posted a photo of the Circus singer on her Instagram Story, along with some kind words for the star.
“Today’s mood,” she began.
“The ultimate queen who made us all want to sparkle and write and share our stories.”
Blake continued, “Britney, us millennials all have a story of a moment, or of years that you made us want to shine and inspire awe, with strength, and joy and immensely hard work.
“Thank you for your example and your contribution to women telling their stories. So excited about your Bipoc and all you have to come.”

Blake was asked about Britney on the red carpet at the event, and fans shared video of her answering the question on social media.
“Britney Spears has meant so much to me forever. I’m a forever Britney stan,” she told a reporter in the clip.
In addition to gushing over the look, some fans on X, formerly Twitter, called for Blake to be cast as Britney in her forthcoming biopic.
“Oh, she is really going for that britney biopic role,” speculated one fan.
“Damn, she really wants the biopic. Can she dance though? Lol,” asked another.
“Oh, she wants this role!” noted a third fan.

Britney Spears’ conservatorship timeline
In September 2021, Britney’s case returned to a Los Angeles courtroom where Judge Brenda Penny made a number of bombshell rulings, following her father’s decision to end the conservatorship the month prior.
She ruled to rid Jamie of his daughter’s conservatorship, however, it did not mean the end of the conservatorship altogether.
Speaking in court, Judge Brenda Penny said: “Based on what I read in the filings, and I read everything. I do believe the suspension of Jamie Spears is in the best interest of Britney Spears.
“The current situation is unattainable. The court finds the toxic environment Jamie Spears has created needs to be removed today.”
Following the judge’s decision, a temporary conservator was put in Jamie’s place for about a month.
In early November 2021, Jamie was back in court filing new legal documents that show he’s done fighting.
Jamie had previously demanded $2 million in exchange for stepping down but documents at the time showed that he was not seeking any further compensation.
On November 12, Judge Penny ruled in favor of the pop star, removing Jamie from the position of conservator without requiring any further mental examination from Britney.

Britney announced that she was working alongside a production team on a biopic on August 1.
She shared the exciting news on X, leaving fans excited about the news.
The star revealed that she was working with producer Marc Platt, of La La Land fame.
The same day, it was revealed that in addition to Marc, director Jon M. Chu has been linked to the project, according to Variety.
Universal Pictures won the rights to Britney’s memoir, The Woman in Me, in a competitive auction.

The book, which was released in October 2023, detailed Britney’s rise to stardom.
It followed her from her days in Disney‘s Mickey Mouse Club all the way up through her conservatorship.
The book also included details about her relationship with Justin Timberlake and her complicated family dynamics.
