The Linda Lindas Announce New Album Share “All in My Head”

The Linda Lindas have announced their new album, No Obligation, out October 11th via Epitaph. In anticipation, the punk band has shared the latest single, “All in My Head,” and its accompanying music video.

Recorded over the past two years when The Linda Lindas weren’t in school or touring, No Obligation marks the follow-up to their 2022 debut Growing Up, combining their LA punk influences with elements of post punk, garage rock, power pop, new wave, and rock en español. Pre-orders are ongoing.

Written by guitarist/vocalist Lucia de la Garza from the perspective of a character in Ottessa Moshfegh’s 2018 novel My Year of Rest and Relaxation, “All in My Head” captures the loneliness of being stuck in one’s mind. “I like it better when it’s all in my head,” de la Garza sings. “The doctors know that I have money to spend/ And no, it’s not you, it’s me I’ve been talking to.”

“Recording it was really fun, full of lots of dancing in the studio,” de la Garza shared in a statement. “[The song’s inspiration] felt like a break from reality, which we don’t usually find ourselves writing about.”

In the James Wyatt-directed music video, de la Garza embodies the isolation described in the song as fellow band members Eloise Wong, Mila de la Garza, and Bela Salazar try to get her to come outside. Watch it below.

Later this month, The Linda Lindas will join Green Day on “The Saviors Tour.” See the schedule below, and get tickets here.
