If you visit the Punk Rock Museum in Las Vegas this fall, there’s a good chance that you can receive a guided tour by a real-life punk legend, and at least one classic rocker. Members of Operation Ivy, Circle Jerks, Ramones, and even the not-as-punk-but-still-cool ZZ Top will be on hand to show you around and share stories.
The Punk Rock Museum opened up last year, and has already had a steady stream of notable musicians giving guided tours to visitors. This fall, the lineup is stacked, with Ramones’ CJ Ramone (9/20-22), Circle Jerks’ Keith Morris (9/27-29), Dead Boys’ Cheetah Chrome (10/4-6), Sum 41’s Dave “Brownsound” Baksh (10/5-6), Warped Tour founder Kevin Lyman (10/19-20), and, yes, ZZ Top’s Billy Gibbons (11/2) among the many tour guides booked for September through November.
Operation Ivy’s Jesse Michaels, who will serve as a tour guide October 11th-14th, posted the following message on Instagram:
“Hi friends, I am going to be a tour guide at the PR museum in Vegas (@thepunkrockmuseum). I will be telling personal stories, sharing some history, stretching the truth a little and settling some scores once and for all (jk about last part). My intention is to deliver more than is asked for and leave everybody feeling like they connected with my little corner of punk history in an intimate and memorable way. I am more than honored to be asked by @fatmikedude and PRM and also by people’s interest in my booble-babble. Really appreciate all of you!”
The Punk Rock Museum was founded by NOFX frontman Fat Mike, and is located at 1422 Western Ave. A full list of guest tour guides can be seen in the three Instagram posts below, with guided tour tickets available here.
