Power Trip played their first full show with new singer Seth Gilmore on Thursday night (June 6th) at the Glass House in Pomona, California. The gig served as a warm-up for the band’s appearance at the one-day No Values punk festival in Pomona on Saturday (June 8th).
Back in December, Gilmore joined the surviving members of Power Trip for a surprise five-song set at the Mohawk in Austin, Texas. That gig marked the band’s first performance since the tragic passing of frontman Riley Gale in August 2020.
In February, the band officially announced its return with Gilmore as its lead singer, booking a handful of shows for 2024, including the two Pomona appearances and headlining concerts in Los Angeles (June 9th), Dallas (July 6th), and New York City (August 24th). Pick up tickets here.
At last night’s show, Power Trip played a 12-song set, mostly culled from their two full-length albums: 2013’s Manifest Decimation and 2017’s Nightmare Logic.
Fan-filmed video of the set shows an enthusiastic response from the crowd, as fans moshed and sang along to favorites like “Executioner’s Tax (Swing of the Axe).”
Saturday’s set at the No Values festival will see Power Trip playing on a legendary bill that includes the Original Misfits, Iggy Pop, Social Distortion, Turnstile, Sublime, Jesus Lizard, and more.
