A CONCEPT car unveiled by Nissan has drawn on origami for the look of its angular bodywork.
And the Hyper Punk electric SUV — inspired by the Japanese art of paper folding — has been designed for social media influencers.
Onboard cameras can capture surrounding scenery, with AI converting it into Manga-style graphics.
Users can also connect and charge their devices, and “access information, upload images and videos, or create new content for their social platforms”.
Nissan added: “The AI and headrest biosensors can detect the driver’s mood so that Hyper Punk can automatically choose the music and lighting it feels can relate well with the users as they create their next content.
“Geometric shapes permeate the visual aesthetics of the Nissan Hyper Punk as seen in the triangular lighting on the large 23-inch wheels, lighting up brightly at night driving.
“Even the headlights, tail lamps, and rear signature emphasize the polygonal shapes and are integrated into the body surface, and the burst of red shades in the interior brings a fiery character to the silver tones, one that may resonate well with the users’ personalities.”
The EV SUV also has butterfly doors that swing up to open.
Nissan is yet to announce production of the vehicle.
